Pre-Yoga Breakfast Meals
Having a good meal before a good workout isn’t some myth, and the same goes for a yoga routine. Having the right meal can really make or break a workout, and today I’ll offer a list of breakfast ideas to get you through your workout feeling energized and healthy!
Peanut Butter and Banana Chia Seed Toast
Throw two slices of bread in the toaster and get out some peanut butter, chia seeds, and a banana. Cut up your banana into quarter size pieces and once your toast is done, slather on as much or as little peanut butter as you’d like. Lay the banana slices on top and sprinkle your desired amount of chia seeds on top. If you prefer a little more sweetness to your breakfast, drizzle some organic honey over your snack. Enjoy!
Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie
Created by ASTROPHE, this recipe is a yummy, vegan-friendly smoothie, that will give you that extra boost in the morning before a workout! Add one cup of soy milk or your preferred milk alternative, 14 frozen strawberries, one broken up banana, a ½ cup of rolled oats, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 ½ teaspoons white sugar (or a sugar of your choice) to a blender and blend until all ingredients and thoroughly mixed together. Because of the frozen strawberries you won’t need to add ice cubes, but if you want your smoothie extra crisp, throw a handful of ice cubes in the blender.
Scrambled Eggs and Veggie Wrap
For this recipe you’ll need a whole wheat wrap, two eggs, red bell peppers, a tomato, spinach, shredded cheese, and some salt and pepper. Grab a medium frying pan and turn the heat up to about a for our five. Lay the wrap onto the pan and layer the desired amount of shredded cheese on top. Wait until the cheese has visibly melted before flipping the tortilla, removing after both slides have been evenly crisped. You can also choose to put the tortilla into the toaster oven. Throw your red bell peppers, diced tomato, and spinach leaves into the frying pan and cook until the veggies are only slightly cooked. While doing this, crack two eggs into a bowl and whisk together with some milk (or alternative) and add some salt, pepper, and any other spices you desire (paprika, red peppers, oregano). After removing the veggies, pour your eggs onto the pan and scramble to your liking. Scoop the scrambled eggs onto the cheesy tortilla and add your veggies on top, adding some hot sauce or other spices to your liking. Wrap tortilla however you prefer and enjoy!
